  7.     Sure it takes a tough man to give the University of Maryland
  8. $2.5  million to set up a new business school. But when the
  9. donor, Frank Perdue, was named to the school's board of regents
  10. earlier this year, outraged animal-rights activists squawked.
  11. Students and faculty on the College Park campus are now
  12. demanding Perdue's ouster. They say he's unfit for the post,
  13. charging that the nation's fourth-largest poultry producer
  14. mistreats both his birds and his employees. Perdue dismisses
  15. the complaints as the rantings of an insignificant minority.
